In the spirit of helping chronically and terminally ill Dallas-area children, the Dallas Police Association founded Wish Upon a Star in 1985. This non-profit foundation was established to meet a critical need or grant a special wish for these ill children.

Wish Upon a Star accepts referrals from within the Dallas county area and coordinates its efforts through hospital administrators and social agencies.

All administrative costs are borne by the Dallas Police Association so that all donations go directly to the children.
